Seats are the number of computers that can be used simultaneously with a given license. Most license (serial numbers) only allow you to use the software on a single computer, which we call a “seat”. The License (serial number) is used to activate and deactivate the software on a particular computer, enabling that system to access all or some of the features of the software. The software “License”, or “Serial number”, is the code you received when you purchased the software or enclosure with the software bundled. OWC software uses licenses, or serial numbers, to manage the features and installations of our software products. Our support team will contact you and work with you to get the software activated. You are having a problem with the Software Activation process.ġ) You aren’t connected to the Internet while activating, orĢ) You are connected to the Internet through a proxy, which is common on business networks, orģ) You have already installed the software on the allowed number of computers (typically just one), orĤ) You have replaced enough hardware in your computer that it appears to the activation system that you are now installing the software on a second computer, even though you are not.ġ) Confirm that you have an active Internet connection before attempting to activate the software.Ģ) Confirm that the activation wizard knows your Internet proxy information, which you can likely get from your system administrator if you are on a business network.ģ) You may deactivate in the software here.ĥ) Purchase additional software for the other computers from .Ħ) Contact Support, explain what has changed in your computer, and provide your product serial number.
